The Wuhan Greenland Center has a total construction area of 392,083 square meters, with 100 floors above ground and 6 floors below ground, totaling 106 floors. The building stands at a height of 475 meters. This super high-rise structure was designed by the renowned American architectural firm AS+GG. The structural design was undertaken by Thornton Tomasetti and the East China Architectural Design & Research Institute Co., Ltd., while the landscape design was handled by the globally recognized SWA Group.
In the construction of the Wuhan Greenland Center, the thread bar coupler connection technology has become the preferred method for connecting reinforcement bars in critical load-bearing components, such as mega-columns and core shear walls, due to its efficiency and reliability.
This technology perfectly meets the project's dual demands for construction speed and quality. Compared to traditional welding, it eliminates the need for open-flame operations, avoiding fire hazards at high altitudes and reducing single-node construction time by 60%.
Additionally, the sleeve connection demonstrates excellent seismic performance. In simulated earthquake load tests, the joints exhibited no slippage or failure, effectively ensuring the structural integrity of this landmark building under complex loading conditions.
