MBT Coupler

MBT (Mechanically Bolted Tension) coupler is a mechanical connector used in reinforced concrete construction to join reinforcing steel bars (rebar) end-to-end without requiring threading or rotation of the bars.

MBT coupler is designed for efficiency, reliability, and structural integrity, particularly in situations where reinforcing couplers is already fixed in place or space is limited, making traditional lap splicing or hydraulic pressing impractical.

  • S45C/40Cr steel ensures superior strength.

  • As a reinforcement coupler joint, the MBT coupler is fatigue-resistant for high-performance in seismic zones.

  • Shear bolt couplers are very simple, requiring no pretreatment of the rebar ends.

  • A torque-controlled screw can be used; when tightened to a certain degree, the screw will break.

  • Screw Splices are ideal for use in fixed locations, confined spaces, or Engineering renovation project where rotation is not possible.

In airport connection Bridges or high-rise beams, bolt couplers are used to connect reinforcing bars to structural steel plates, enhancing shear strength and supporting load transfer, which is suitable for environments with limited on-site access.
