The Baghdara Hydropower Project is a key supporting project for the Aynak Copper Mine Project in Afghanistan. As a reservoir-type project, it has a planned capacity of 400 million cubic meters and is expected to generate 874.6 GWh of electricity. The project cost is estimated to be approximately US$585.9 million. A signing ceremony for the project cooperation agreement was held in Kabul, Afghanistan, on December 1, 2024. The contractor is China Metallurgical Group Copper and Zinc Co., Ltd.
